Recalled Halloween Candleholders
Menomonee
Falls, WI (SafetyAlerts)
- Kohl's Department Stores Inc. has recalled
about 8,000 Halloween candleholders. Flames from the tea-light candle can
ignite the candleholder, posing a fire hazard and risk of burn injuries to
consumers.
Kohl's has received two reports of the candleholder igniting, causing smoke
and soot damage to surrounding property. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled Halloween ghost candleholders are about 10- inches tall and are
made of acrylic. The ghosts are white and hold a small orange pumpkin in
which the tea-light candle sits. Two orange pumpkins are painted along the
hem of the ghost. The candleholders were made in China.
Kohl's Department Stores sold the candleholders nationwide from August 2002
through October 2002 for about $17.
Consumers should stop using the candleholders immediately and return them to
the store where purchased for a refund. For more information, consumers can
contact Kohl's toll-free at (800) 694-2647 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
CT Monday through Friday.
