Covington, GA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Option Care is recalling Compressed Medicinal
Oxygen in Steel Tanks, (E, D, and M size) because of current good manufacturing practice
deviations, including but not limited to lack of oxygen assays.
This ongoing Class II recall was initiated by
the company, by telephone on November 5, 1999. This is the first notice the FDA has issued
to the general public of the recall.
6,000 cylinders were distributed in
Georgia and included various lots produced between 8/7/98 and 8/17/99.
