Assorted Papas Brand Sugar Stick Candy Recalled for Undeclared Colors

Poulsbo, WA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Chris A. Papas & Son is recalling assorted Papas brand Sugar Stick Candy, packed in 4 ounce retail plastic bags, because the product contains undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Red No. 3, and FD&C Blue No. 1.

This Class II recall was initiated by the company, by telephone or visit on or about August 1, 1999.  This is the first notice the FDA has issued to the general public of the recall.  The FDA considers this recall complete.

Approximately 1200 bags were distributed in Ohio and Kentucky.  This recall affects all bags distributed on or before 7/23/99.
