Fil-Fish Hot-Smoked Uneviscerated Round Scad and  Air-Dried Herring Recalled

Fullerton, CA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Fil-Fish Manufacturing is recalling Hot-Smoked Uneviscerated Round Scad and Air-Dried Herring because the fish has the potential to support the growth of Clostridium botulinum.

This Class I recall was initiated by the company, by letter faxed on March 13, 1999, followed by telephone from March 13 to 16, 1999.  This is the first notice the FDA has issued to the general public of the recall.  The FDA considers this recall complete.

Approximately 80 of the 6 ounce packages were distributed in Illinois, California and New Jersey.
