Plantain Products Has Recalled Plantain and Cassava chips

Tampa, FL (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Plantain Products has recalled Plantain and Cassava chips.

PRODUCT
a) Chifles brand Spicy Carribean Plantain chips, 2oz., 5 oz., and 8 oz.
Recall # F-654-2;
b) Chifles Spicy Caribbean Cassava chips, 4 oz. Recall # F-655-2.

CODE
All codes are involved up to the last shipped product which has an expiration code of "9-11-2002".

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Plantain Products Co., Tampa, FL, by telephone, fax and letter on 6/12/02, and by press release on June 13, 2002 and June 14, 2002. FDA initiated recall ongoing.

REASON
The products contained undeclared whey.
