California Sun Dry Foods Has Recalled Sun-Dried Tomato Spread and Pasta Sauce

(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released the following information.

PRODUCT
a) California Sun-Dry brand Sun-Dried Tomato Spread 9.0 oz. in glass jars. Recall # F-485-3;
b) California Sun-Dry brand Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta Sauce 16.0 oz. in glass jars. Recall # F-486-3.

CODE
All products with "best if used by dates" of any day in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
California Sun Dry Foods, Danville, CA, by telephone and letter on May 9, 2003. FDA initiated recall is ongoing.

REASON
Products contain undeclared sulfites.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
20,181 cases.

DISTRIBUTION
Nationwide.
