(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released the following information.

PRODUCT
Frozen Marlin loins packed in shipping cartons labeled in part: Exporter Industria Marina Cristal Consigned to: Matica Inc Specie: Marlin Blanco Box # Net Weight Product of Costa Rica. Weights vary but are usually over 100 lbs. per case. Recall # F-405-3.

CODE
There are no codes on the product or the bulk cases. Shipment was received on or about April 15, 2003.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Matica, Inc., Hialeah, FL, by telephone on May 11, 2003, and site visit on May 12, 2003. State initiated recall is complete.

REASON
The product was associated with illness and found to contain elevated levels of histamine.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
2,406 pounds.
