Royal Food Has Recalled Duchess brand sliced peaches

(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released the following information.


PRODUCT
Duchess brand sliced peaches in light syrup, net wt. 106 oz. (6 lb. 10 oz.) 3.01 Kg. Product of China. Product is packaged in #10 cans. There are 6 cans per case. Recall # F-284-3.

CODE
Barcode # 32460 00010. "H22/020706/6131Y" for 431 cartons;
"H22/020707/6131Y" for 539 cartons (codes are in ink only, not impressed into lids).

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Royal Food Import Corp., New York, NY, by telephone on February 3, 2003. State initiated recall is ongoing.

REASON
The product is unfit for food. State of Ohio laboratory analysis revealed the cans were de-tinned and the contents were discolored.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
970 cases (6 cans per case).
