Recall Update: LIR International Walnuts and Almonds in honey Recall is Complete

(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released the following information.


PRODUCT
a) Almonds in honey, net wt. 430 grams (15 oz).
Recall # F-288-3;
b) Walnuts in honey, net wt. 320 grams (11 oz).
Recall # F-289-3.
The products were packaged in glass jars and labeled in Russian (no English labeling).

CODE
a) Production date - November 25, 2001;
b) Production date - May 30, 2002.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Recalling Firm: LIR International Wholesale, Inc, Brooklyn, NY, by two separate press releases and letters dated October 4, 2002.
Manufacturer: PII Sky Limited Kiev, Ukraine, State initiated recall is complete.

REASON
The products do not bear mandatory English labeling, including listing ingredients such as walnuts or almonds.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
a) 16 cases (15 jars per case);
b) 21 cases (18 jars per case).
