Royal Seafood Baza Has Recalled Latvian Toffees "Skolenu"

Rockaway, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Royal Seafood Baza Inc. has recalled all of its Latvian toffees "Skolenu" because it contains undeclared peanuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Latvian toffees "Skolenu" was distributed in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens through retail stores.

It is packaged in a 200gr clear vacuum packed plastic pouch with code: 09.09.03 and is labeled in Latvian.

There have been no reported illnesses as of this date.

The recall was initiated after the peanut containing product in packaging that did not declared the presence of peanuts was discovered during a routine inspection by Food Inspectors of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

Consumers who have purchased Latvian toffees "Skolenu" are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 718 318 1888 (Evgeniya Borzunova).
