Unilever Bestfoods Has Recalled
Chicken Parmigiana & Penne
- Unilever Bestfoods is recalling
codes listed below of its Bertolli Frozen Dinner - "Chicken Parmigiana &
Penne" variety. This product may contain shrimp which is not declared on the
label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shrimp run the
risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this
The Bertolli Frozen Dinner - "Chicken Parmigiana & Penne" variety was
distributed to retail stores in seven states: Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (excluding New York City), Rhode
Island, and Vermont. No related illnesses have been reported to date. The
situation has been fully investigated and corrected.
The product being recalled was manufactured under the following codes, which
can be found on the top of the right hand side of the bag, printed in black
ink (within the fold).
Chicken Parmigiana & Penne: 2H19NC, 2H20NC, 2H28NC, and 2X20NC
No other Bertolli Frozen Dinner products are included in this recall.
Unilever Bestfoods is working with the U. S. Food and Drug Administration in
implementing this voluntary recall and has notified all affected
distributors and retail customers, as well as the Food Allergy Network.
Consumers who have purchased the product carrying the codes listed above
should discard it, and then call Unilever Bestfoods' 24-hour, toll-free Hot
Line at 1-800-457-7086 for a full refund, or return the product to the place
of purchase for a full refund.
