Ohio Firm Has Recalled Salisbury Steak

Luigino?s Inc. has
recalled approximately 16,300 pounds of frozen Salisbury Steak products
because of misbranding, including undeclared allergens (eggs), the U.S.
Department of Agriculture?s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced
Eggs are known allergens. Persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity
to eggs run the risk of possible allergic reactions if they consume this
The products being recalled are 10.5-ounce boxes of ?Michelina?s, Signature,
SALISBURY STEAK & GRAVY, with shells and cheese.? The establishment code
?EST. 18297? is inlcuded on each package. Also embossed on each package is
one of the following date codes: ?J2113N12? or ?J2148N12.?
The products were produced on April 23 and May 28 and distributed to retail
stores in Arizona, Indiana and Wisconsin.
?We urge consumers, especially those allergic or sensitive to eggs, to check
to see if they have this product,? said Dr. Garry L. McKee, FSIS
administrator. ?If they find the product listed above, consumers with these
allergies should not eat it, but return it to the point of purchase.?
FSIS discovered the problem and notified the company.
