(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released the following information.

Raw Mung Bean Sprouts packaged in 5, 10, and 15 lb. plastic bags.
Recall # F-770-2.

CODE
All products on the market at the time the recall was initiated.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Hien Van Tran So. Portland, ME, by telephone on February 21, 2002 and
letter dated February 22, 2002. Firm initiated recall is complete.

REASON
Mung Bean Sprouts were associated with an outbreak of Salmonella
enteritidis.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
Approximately 1,000 lbs.
