Cedar Valley Cheese Has Recalled Mozzarella Cheese

(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released the following information.

PRODUCT
Mozzarella Cheese, 20 lb. blocks. Recall # F-764-2.

CODE
Vats 7 and 8, 7/26/02 production.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Cedar Valley Cheese, Belgium, WI, by telephone on August 5, 2002.
Firm initiated recall is ongoing.

REASON
The cheese was contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
Cheese was shipped from vats 7, 8 and 9 and totaled 18,000 to 19,000
pounds with 10,729 pounds from vats 7 & 8.
