This is the first public notice of
recall issued by the FDA.
Chlor-Trimeton Allergy 8 hour tablets, Chlorphenirmaine maleate, 8 mg per
tablet, 15 tablets, blister packaged. The product is labeled in part:
Chlor-Trimeton Antihistamine Allergy 8 Hour 15 tablets Schering-Plough
HealthCare Products, Inc. Memphis, TN. Inside each carton is a foil blister
of fifteen (15) tablets labeled in part: Chlor-Trimeton 8 Hour Allergy
Tablets 7-CC-2 EXP 1/02 Schering-Plough HealthCare Products, Inc. Memphis,
Lot No. 7-CC-2, Expiration January 2002.
Schering Plough Healthcare Products, Cleveland, TN, by letter dated October
Schering Laboratories Kenilworth, NJ. Firm initiated recall is ongoing.
Dissolution Failure at 2 hour test time (Stability 50th month).
