Biotics Research Recalls a Dietary Supplement Using Pepsin

Rosenberg, TX (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Biotics Research Corporation is recalling Hydrozyme, tablets, a dietary supplement sold in bottles of 90 and 250.

This is the first public notice of this Class I recall issued by the FDA.

RECALL NUMBER, PRODUCT AND CODE:
F-004-2, Hydrozyme, tablets, a dietary supplement sold in bottles of 90
and 250.
F-005-2, HCl Plus, tablets, a dietary supplement sold in bottles of 90.

Codes:
Product HCl Plus, lot 21150
Product Hydrozyme, lot 21173, 21245, 21280

REASON:
The products were manufactured using pepsin that American Laboratories, Inc., Omaha, NE recalled due to Salmonella contamination.
