Subaru Has Recalled the 2004 Legacy and Outback
(SafetyAlerts)
- The
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released the
following information.
Make : SUBARU Model : LEGACY Year : 2004
Make : SUBARU Model : OUTBACK Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 03V303000
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 7874
Summary:
CERTAIN PASSENGER OR SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY HAVE A LOOSE OR OUT OF
POSITION FUEL FILLER HOSE CLAMP.
Consequence:
THIS COULD RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN
IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND TIGHTEN THE CLAMP ON THE FUEL FILLER HOSE. OWNER
NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER 2003. OWNERS
SHOULD CONTACT SUBARU AT 1-800-782-2783.
