Buick Has Recalled the 2002, 2003 Rendezvous
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released the

Potential Number Of Units Affected : 107383
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE LIFTGATE STRUCTURE MAY FRACTURE
AROUND THE LATCH REINFORCEMENT IN THE EVENT OF A SEVERE, REAR COLLISION.
THE LIFTGATE MAY SEPARATE FROM THE LATCH ASSEMBLY AND OPEN. AN OCCUPANT
COULD BE EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN INCREASED RISK OF PERSONAL
GM HAS NOT YET PROVIDED A REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. DEALERS AND CUSTOMERS
WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL DURING AUGUST 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT
