DaimlerChrysler Has Recalled the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released the
Models: Jeep Grand Cherokee Year: 2004
Number Potentially Involved: 286
Dates of Manufacture: January 2003
Defect: On certain sport utility vehicles, the power steering gear may
contain an improperly formed spacer clip that could become dislodged,
resulting in increased steering effort.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the steering gear assemblies. The manufacturer
has reported that owner notification began March 12, 2003. Owners may
contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
