Kia Motors Has Recalled the 2002 Sedona
(SafetyAlerts)
- The
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released the
following information.
Kia Motors America, Inc.
Models: Kia Sedona Year: 2002
Number Potentially Involved: 9,787
Dates of Manufacture: May ? November 2001
Noncompliance: Certain minivans fail to comply with the requirements of
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety
Standard No. 209, ?Seat Belt Assemblies.? The second and third seat belt
buckle anchor bolts do not comply
with the standards. In the event of a vehicle crash, the occupant may not be
properly restrained.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle anchor bolts. The
manufacturer has reported that owner
notification is expected to begin during March 2003. Owners may contact Kia
at 1-800-333-4542.
