Triumph Has Recalled 2001-2002 Triumph Speed Triple, Triumph Sprint ST, Triumph Daytona and Triumph Centennial Motorcycles

(SafetyAlerts) -  Triumph Has Recalled 2001-2002 Triumph Speed Triple, Triumph Sprint ST, Triumph Daytona and Triumph Centennial Motorcycles because the rear wheel needle roller bearings can deteriorate and seize.

Number Potentially Involved: 1,557

Dates of Manufacture: March 2001 – March 2002

Defect: On certain motorcycles, the rear wheel needle roller bearings can deteriorate and seize, causing the rear wheel to lockup. This can cause a loss of control of the motorcycle.

Remedy: Dealers will replace all rear wheel bearings. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began Sept. 19, 2002. Owners should contact Triumph at 1-678-854-2010.
