(SafetyAlerts) -  Buell Motorcycle Has Recalled the 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9R because the side stand legs have the potential to bend or break.

Number of Units Affected: 371

Manufactured: 08/2002 - 09/2002

Defect Summary:
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE SIDE STAND LEGS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BEND OR BREAK.

Consequence Summary:
THIS COULD CAUSE THE MOTORCYCLE TO FALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Corrective Summary:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SIDE STAND. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BUELL AT 1-414-342-4680.
