Michelin Recalls Tires

Detroit, MI (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall affecting MICHELIN 27580R22.5 Tires.

Number Involved: 385


Defect Summary:
TIRE DESCRIPTION: 275/80R22.5 MICHELIN XZE TL LRG. ON ONE SIDE OF THE TIRE, INSTEAD OF THE MARKING OF THE MAXIMUM LOAD RATING AND CORRESPONDING INFLATION PRESSURE OF THE TIRE, THE TIRE IS MARKED TWICE WITH THE LOAD RATING AND THE INFLATION PRESSURE IS OMITTED. THIS DOSE NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 119, "NEW PNEUMATIC TIRES."

Corrective Summary:
MICHELIN HAS NOT PROVIDED THE AGENCY WITH A REMEDY SCHEDULE.
