Costco Wholesale Recalls Decorative Rope Light Sets

No Image AvailableIssaquah, WA (SafetyAlerts) - Costco Wholesale is recalling the Traditions 25.5' Decorative Light, Rope Style, model number NK1-13. The flexible rope lights may melt when plugged in and left on the reel or when plugged in and left coiled. Under these conditions the rope lights may present a fire or shock hazard.

The Decorative Light, manufactured by Neon King, sold for $9.99 and is packaged in a green "Traditions" box. The item is a flexible rope style lighting strip with red, green or multi-colored lights and was sold at Costco locations throughout the United States from approximately October 1 through October 19, 2000 as item number 343826.

Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to the nearest Costco Wholesale location for a full refund.
