AUBURN HILLS, MI (SafetyAlerts) - Audi of America, Inc., A division of Volkswagen, today announced that it is voluntarily recalling a total of 46 Audi TT model year 2000 vehicles to correct a potential problem with fuel lines.

Audi has determined that in some TTs, a small section of the fuel line assembly, which is attached to the underside of the vehicle, could have been damaged during production. If damaged, the fuel line could leak to the outside of the vehicle and potentially cause a fire.

There have been no owner complaints attributed to this concern nor have there been any fires, accidents or injuries. Audi, however, is aware of one occurrence of leakage involving a company owned vehicle.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by express mail. They will be asked to contact their authorized Audi dealer to have the fuel lines replaced at no cost. Replacement parts are available now at the respective dealerships.

Customers with questions are welcome to phone Audi Customer Relations toll-free at 1-800-822-2834.
