Defect: Motorcycles. A coolant water hose can come loose at the thermostat housing during operation. Steam released could obscure the rider's vision, and leaking coolant could make the rear tire slip.

Remedy: Dealers will install and properly tighten two new hose clamps. Owner notification was expected to begin during August 1999. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
