Harris Ranch Frozen Ground Beef Patties Recalled

MERCED,  CA (SafetyAlerts) -  Richwood Meat Co. is recalling 3,900 pounds of their Harris Ranch Frozen Ground Beef Patties because of possible contamination with very small metal pieces that appear to be from a wire mesh glove.

The frozen patties were distributed in   3-pound bags (each containing 12 quarter-pound patties).  The recall affects any 3-pound bags with no code; or any 24-pound cases (containing 8 three-pound bags) with julian code 195 (= July 14 production).

2 consumer complaints to the firm alerted Richwood Meats of the problem, including one report of injury from ingesting product.

No press release was issued.  It was determined that the problem was None, not a major public health risk because the potential injury was not life-threatening

Questions concerning this recall should be directed to Randall Rohrback, quality assurance manager, 209-722-8171
