Harris Ranch Frozen Ground Beef Patties Recalled
MERCED, CA (SafetyAlerts) - Richwood Meat Co. is recalling 3,900 pounds of their Harris Ranch
Frozen Ground Beef Patties because of possible contamination with very small metal pieces
that appear to be from a wire mesh glove.
The frozen patties were distributed in
3-pound bags (each containing 12 quarter-pound patties). The recall affects
any 3-pound bags with no code; or any 24-pound cases (containing 8 three-pound bags) with
julian code 195 (= July 14 production).
2 consumer complaints to the firm alerted Richwood
Meats of the problem, including one report of injury from ingesting product.
No press release was issued. It was
determined that the problem was None, not a major public health risk because the potential
injury was not life-threatening
