Winn-Dixie Voluntarily Recalls Certain Lots of
its 'Superbrand' Bottled Water
Jacksonville, FL (SafetyAlerts) - Certain lots of
'Superbrand' bottled water are voluntarily being recalled by the Winn Dixie grocery
chain. According to a company representative glass was found in machinery which
bottles the water, as a preventative measure Winn Dixie has decided to recall all
containers which may have been affected. No injuries have been reported.
The identifying markings are:
Superbrand Distilled Water
1 gal. w/ sell-by dates: Sept. 24 00, thru Sept. 30 00
Superbrand Purified Water
1 gal. with sell-by dates: Sept. 29 00 & Sept. 30 00
Superbrand Spring Water
1 gal. with sellby date Jan. 23 00
Superbrand Spring Water
2.5 gal. with sell-by date Jan. 29 00
Superbrand Drinking Water
1 gal. with sell-by dates: Sept. 24 00, thru Sept. 30 00
Sell-by dates and the plant number are printed on
the bottom of the product label. No other dates of these products are affected. Plant
personnel discovered glass in a piece of equipment. No glass has been found in any bottled
product. However, because of our commitment to our customers we are recalling the products
above. Much of this product is still in Winn-Dixie warehouses.
These products were for distribution only to
stores in the following Florida and southern Georgia counties.

BREVARD, CHARLOTTE , CITRUS, CLAY, COLLIER, COLUMBIA, DESOTO, DUVAL, FLAGLER, GADSDEN,
HENDRY, HERNANDO, HIGHLANDS, HILLSBOROUGH, INDIAN RIVER, JEFFERSON, LAKE, LEE, LEON, LEVY,
MADISON, MANATEE, MARION, NASSAU, ORANGE , OSCEOLA, PASCO, PINELLAS, POLK, PUTNAM, ST.
JOHNS, ST. LUCIE, SARASOTA, SEMINOLE , SUMTER, SUWANNEE, TAYLOR, VOLUSIA AND WAKULLA.
GEORGIA COUNTIES: APPLING, BEN HILL,
BULLOCH, CAMDEN, COFFEE, COLQUITT, COOK, CRISP, DECATUR, DOUGHERTY, EFFINGHAM, EVANS,
GLYNN, GRADY, LEE, LIBERTY, LOWNDES, MITCHELL, TELFAIR, THOMAS, TIFT, TOOMBS, WARE, AND
