Keebler Issues Allergy Alert on
Undeclared Dairy Products in Frosted Animal Cookies
ELMHURST, IL (SafetyAlerts)
- The Keebler Company announced that it is recalling Keebler Frosted Animal Cookies
because the product contains dairy whey and non-fat dry milk solids, which are not
declared on the ingredient statement. Consumers who are allergic to dairy products can
have life threatening reactions if they consume this product.
The Keebler customer service representative was
unable to comment as to whether any illnesses had been reported related to this recall.
No press release was issued. Keebler has voluntarily taken this action due to
the risk for consumers sensitive to dairy ingredients.
The packages are sold in 16-ounce bags and carry
the UPC# 3010011346. The product is distributed east of the Rocky Mountains. Keebler
Company is advising retail outlets to remove the product from shelves.
