Lucky Lotus brand Hot Luu Tapioca Snack Recalled
Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Kien Import Corporation is recalling Lucky Lotus
brand Hot Luu Tapioca Snack packaged in 7 ounce flexible plastic packages, because the
product contained Ponceau 4R (an unapproved color additive). It also contained
undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 5 and FD&C Blue No. 1.

Kien Import Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, by letter on December 23, 1998.
Completed recall resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State
Department of Agriculture and Markets.
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina.
31 cases (50 packages per case) were imported.
