Lauria Food Enterprise, Inc. Recalls Pecorino Primo Sale Cheese White

Howard Beach, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Lauria Food Enterprise, Inc. is recalling Pecorino Primo Sale Cheese White (Bianco), net weight approximately 4-5 kilos, mainly labeled in Italian and French, because the product contains E. coli in excess of the action level, which indicates that the cheese was prepared under unsanitary conditions.

This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.

Expiration dates: 15 12.99 (December 15,1999) and 30 11.99 (November 30, 1999).

Spatafora Formaggi, Italy.

RECALLED BY
Lauria Food Enterprise, Inc., Howard Beach, New York, by letter dated April 2, 1999. Firm-initiated recall ongoing.

25 cartons of 6 4-5 kilo wheels were distributed.
