Vasinee Food Corporation, Brooklyn, New York
(importer), by letter dated November 25, 1997,
and by fax on December 17, 1997. Completed
recall resulted from sample analysis and
follow-up by the New York State Department of
Agriculture and Markets.

DISTRIBUTION

New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut,
Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Rhode Island,
Pennsylvania, Tennessee.

QUANTITY

102 cases (36 bags per case) were distributed.

REASON

The product, uneviscerated dried fish, has
the potential to support the growth of and
toxin production by Clostridium botulinum.
