Powerade Mountain Blast Recalled For Mold

Chicago, IL (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that the Minute Maid Company is recalling Powerade Mountain Blast, in 20 ounce containers, because it is contaminated with mold.

This ongoing Class III recall was initiated by the company verbally and by by E-mail and fax on December 9, 1999.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.

Over 2,478 cases (24 cans per case) were distributed in Indiana and Minnesota.  The firm estimated that 620 cases remained on market at time of recall initiation.
