New York Firm Has Recalled Turkey Lunch Kits

Kraft Foods Co. has recalled
approximately 12,600 pounds of turkey lunch kits because of misbranding.
The products are considered misbranded because the retail package is labeled
as turkey but contains ham. The company discovered the problem and notified
The lunch kits being recalled are net weight 3.8-ounce & 6.75 fluid ounce
boxes of "Oscar Mayer Lunchables, Cracker Stackers, Lean Turkey Breast &
White Turkey Cured." Printed on the side of each box is the use by date
code, "NOV 19 02 C EST. 537 L." Immediately following this code is the hour
code. The products subject to recall have an hour code falling between
"16:31 and 19:55."
The product was produced on August 11 and distributed to retail stores in
the following states: Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland,
Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, Virginia and Wisconsin.
"FSIS wants consumers to be aware of the recall," said Dr. Garry McKee, FSIS
administrator. "Consumers who have concerns about the misbranding of this
product should return it to the point of purchase."
