Zurheide Ice Cream Has Recalled Zurheide "Rowdy Reindeer" Ice Cream

Sheboygan, WI (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Zurheide Ice Cream Co., Inc. has recalled 1/2 gallon of Rowdy Reindeer Ice Cream in round paper containers because they may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled Rowdy Reindeer Ice Cream was distributed in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

The product comes in a 1/2 gallon round paper container marked with lot #2671 on the bottom of the container.

The recall was immediately initiated after a complaint was received by Zurheide Ice Cream Co., Inc. of an allergic reaction. Subsequent investigation concluded the product was manufactured prior to manufacturing changes implemented by the firm intended to eliminate potential allergen risk.

Consumers who have purchased the 1/2 gallon Rowdy Reindeer Ice Cream, are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-877-850-1569.
