Colt Has Recalled Truffle Babies and Mighty Marshmallows

Nashville, Tennessee (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Colt, Inc. has recalled Truffle Babies and Mighty Marshmallows (chocolate dipped marshmallows) because the products contain milk not listed on the labeling. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Truffle Babies were distributed in bulk containers nationwide to retail stores. Mighty Marshmallows were distributed in bulk containers nationwide to gift basket manufacturers and florists

Truffle Babies are a chocolate, peanut butter, and almond confection individually wrapped, one-ounce pieces.

Mighty Marshmallows are a chocolate dipped marshmallow, individually wrapped in clear cellophane with no ingredient statement

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was noted during an FDA inspection that one product was incorrectly labeled and one product was unlabeled. Both products were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk.

Consumers with questions on the product should contact Mr. Josh Horn (615) 251-0100 for additional information and product return
