Recall Update: Spice World Dried basil leaves Recall Complete

(SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released the following information.

PRODUCT
Dried basil leaves sold under either Spice World brand or Roma brand. Recall # F-765-2.

CODE
The Spice World brand was coded with "0912" on the label.
The Roma brand was not coded. The firm recalled product distributed
between January 4, 2002, and May 23, 2002.

RECALLING FIRM/MANUFACTURER
Spice World Inc., Orlando, FL, by telephone on July 16, 2002 followed by
letter and press release on July 17, 2002. Firm initiated recall is
complete.

REASON
The product was contaminated with Salmonella.

VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE
76 cases of 24/1 oz and 220/5 lb. and 310 1.5 lb.
