Laubscher Cheese Company Recalls Shredded Swiss Cheese and  Cheddar Cheeses

Mercer, PA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Laubscher Cheese Company, Inc. is recalling Shredded Swiss Cheese and  Cheddar Cheeses because the products were contaminated with mold.

This is the first public notice of this Class III recall issued by the FDA.

RECALL NUMBER, PRODUCT AND CODE:
F-460-1, Shredded Swiss Cheese - The Swiss cheese is shipped as 6 units per cardboard box.
F-461-1, Shredded Cheddar Cheese - The cheddar cheese is shipped as 4 units per cardboard box.

Each type of cheese is sold as a 5 lb unit in a plastic bag.

RECALLED BY:
On 6/7/01, the recalling firm verbally notified their broker and the accounts.
