Strong America Recalls Yang Shi Food brand Chocolate Egg Rolls

- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Strong America Limited is
recalling Yang Shi Food brand Chocolate Egg Rolls packed in flexible plastic
packages, net wt. 140 grams (5 oz.), 24 - 140 gram pkgs. per case.
This is the first public notice of
recall issued by the FDA.
RECALL NUMBER, PRODUCT AND CODE:
F-554-1, Yang Shi Food brand Chocolate Egg Rolls packed in flexible plastic
packages, net wt. 140 grams (5 oz.), 24 - 140 gram pkgs. per case. Product
of China. The product’s barcode # is 6 921981 823119.
The product was not coded. The firm recalled all products on the market at
the time the recall was initiated.
The product contained undeclared tartrazine (certifiable as FD&C Yellow #5).
The product was also misbranded in that the ingredients were not listed in
Yik Hoi Trading Company Tsing Yi, Hong Kong, China
Strong America Limited, Brooklyn, NY, by letter dated 10/02/00
FIRM INITIATED RECALL:
Completed. Recall resulted from inspection and analysis by the New York
State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

40 cases (24 - 140 gram packages per case) were distributed.
