Ritchey's Dairy Recalls Ritchey's Strawberry and Black Raspberry Ice Cream

Martinsburg, PA  (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Ritchey's Dairy, Inc. is recalling Ritchey's Strawberry Ice Cream and Black Raspberry Ice Cream sold in 5 quart, one half gallon, and one pint sizes.

This is the first public notice of this Class lI recall issued by the FDA.

RECALL NUMBER, PRODUCT AND CODE:
F-551-1, Ritchey's Strawberry Ice Cream;
F-552-1, Black Raspberry Ice Cream.
The products are sold in 5 quart, one half gallon, and one pint sizes.

Codes: The product is not coded so all products shipped between April 1, 2001 and June 11, 2001 are included in the recall.

REASON:
Strawberry ice cream contains undeclared Red #3 and Red #40.
Black raspberry contains undeclared Red #40 and Blue #1.
