FDA First Notice: Candy Express Assorted Sugar Free Chocolates Recalled

Souderton, PA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Asher Chocolates has recalled certain Candy Express Assorted Sugar Free Chocolates because the products were labeled as sugar free chocolates but actually contains regular sweetened chocolates.

This is the first public notice of this Class III recall issued by FDA.

Candy Express Assorted Sugar Free Chocolates 7.5 oz and 15 oz boxes.

Recall # F-427-1.

The lot number for the 7.5 oz. box is 23-22-0 and the sku number for 7.5 oz. box is 80135. The lot number for the 15 oz. box 23-21-0 and the sku number is 80137.

Asher Chocolates, Souderton, PA.

Manufacturer, by telephone on 12/19/00 and by letter on 1/12/01. Firm initiated recall is *complete.

*Completed recall: FDA states 'completed recall' indicates the company has removed all affected product from store shelves,  it does not necessarily mean this particular product lot, or codes, have been fully accounted for.
