FDA First Notice: "The First" Brand Dried Persimmon Recalled

Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Strong America Limited has recalled certain "The First" brand Dried Persimmon because the product contains undeclared sulfites.

This is the first public notice of this Class I recall issued by FDA.

The First brand Dried Persimmon packed in flexible plastic packages, net wt. 14-oz. (396g).


Soon Foong Company, West Hong Kong, China.

Strong America Limited, Importer and distributor, Brooklyn, NY., by Recall Notice, dated 10/02/00. *Completed recall resulted from follow-up by the New York State Dept. of Agriculture and Markets.

*Completed recall: FDA states 'completed recall' indicates the company has removed all affected product from store shelves,  it does not necessarily mean this particular product lot, or codes, have been fully accounted for.
