FDA First Notice: Lintzer Tart and Guava Pound Cake Recalled by New Jersey Bakery

Passaic, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Daisy’s Bakery  has recalled certain Lintzer Tart and Guava Pound Cake products because they contain undeclared certified colors as listed below.

This is the first public notice of this Class III recall issued by FDA.

a) Lintzer Tart, 4.0 oz. Recall #F-288-1;
b) Guava Pound Cake, 5 oz. Recall #F-289-1.

No codes.

Daisy’s Bakery, Passaic, NJ.

Manufacturer, by letter dated 11/30/2000. Firm-initiated recall *complete.

*Completed recall: FDA states 'completed recall' indicates the company has removed all affected product from store shelves,  it does not necessarily mean this particular product lot, or codes, have been fully accounted for.

New York and New Jersey.

1865 dozen (including products listed under F-281/287-1 under class II above).

The products contains undeclared certified colors as follows:
a) FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2
b) FD&C Red No. 40 and FD&C Blue No. 1.
