and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Summit Import Corp. is recalling Hwang
Ryh Shiang Fermented Bean Curd Chunk with Sesame Oil because the product was produced
under unsanitary conditions whereby it may have been rendered injurious to health.
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
recall issued by FDA.
Hwang Ryh Shiang Fermented Bean Curd Chunk with Sesame Oil in 10.25 oz. glass jars.
None. All product on the market at the time the recall was initiated was affected.
Hwang Ryh Shiang Co., Ltd., Ta His, Taiwan
Summit Import Corp., New York, NY by letter dated August 1, 2000. **Completed recall
resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State Department of
Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has
completed processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product
has been fully accounted for.
New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina.
