Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Alanric Food Distributors, Inc. is recalling
certain Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. The product contains undeclared sulfites.
This is the first public notice of
this Class III
recall issued by FDA.
Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, in 8.5-fluid ounce bottles.
Not coded. All product on market at time of recall initiation.

Alanric Food Distributors, Inc., Thorofare, New Jersey, by telephone and visit beginning
June 8, 2000. **Completed field correction (relabeling) resulted from sample analysis and
follow-up by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
2,869 bottles were distributed.
