NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) said today that 15th Avenue Food Corporation, also known as
Brooklyn, Kosher Bakery, Inc. is recalling certain Korn brand Cookies. The products
contain multiple undeclared color additives.
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
recall issued by FDA.
a) Korn brand Rainbow Cookies, in 15-ounce rigid plastic containers- Product
contained undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Red No.3, FD&C Red No. 40, and
FD&C Blue No.1.
b) Korn brand French Cookies (with rainbow or chocolate
sprinkles), in 15-ounce rigid plastic containers- Product contained undeclared FD&C
Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Red No.3, FD&C Red No. 40, and FD&C
Not coded. All products on market at time of recall initiation.
15th Avenue Food Corporation, also known as Brooklyn, Kosher Bakery, Inc., Brooklyn, New
Manufacturer, by letter May 24, 2000, followed by visit. **Completed recall resulted from
an inspection by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
a) 100 15-ounce packages; b) 81 15-ounce packages were distributed.
