NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Allied Imports, Inc. is recalling certain
Rhizoma Dioscoreae Oppsitae because the product may contain undeclared sulfites.
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
recall issued by FDA.
Rhizoma Dioscoreae Oppsitae (herb), in 12-ounce (340 grams) clear flexible
None. All product on the market at time of recall initiation.
Jiangmen Company of Guangdong Foreign Economic Development Corporation, Jiangmen,
Allied Imports, Inc., Brooklyn, New York, by visit on April
20, 2000. **Completed recall resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York
State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
66 cases (50 12-ounce packages per case) were distributed.
