NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Allied Imports, Inc. is recalling its dried or
preserved plum product because the product may contain undeclared sulfites.
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
recall issued by FDA.
Dried Fruit or Preserved Fruit (Plum), in 5.3-ounce (150
gram) rigid plastic tray, in flexible plastic.
None. All product on the market at time of recall initiation.
Jiangmen Company of Guangdong Foreign Economic Development Corporation, Guangdong, China.
Allied Imports, Inc., Brooklyn, New York (importer), by visit on June 23, 2000.
**Completed recall resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State
Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia.
60 cases (50 5.3-ounce packages per case) were distributed.
