Allergy Alert - Voortman Chunky Chip Cookies Recalled - Expanded

Burlington, Ontario (SafetyAlerts) - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the Voortman brand cookies listed below as they may contain milk protein not declared on the label. These products are of concern only to those individuals who have allergies to milk protein.

The manufacturer, Voortman Cookies Ltd., of Burlington, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the products. These products have been distributed in Canada and the United States.

The consumption of these cookies may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. There has been one reported illness associated with these products.

At the time of this posting there had been no corresponding recall notice issued by the U.S. food and Drug Administration.
