Harris Teeter Recalls Chocolate Ice Cream

Matthews, NC (SafetyAlerts) - Harris Teeter Inc., said today it is recalling certain lots of its Harris Teeter chocolate ice cream sold in 1/2 gallon containers because the product may contain undeclared peanuts.

Consumption of peanuts by allergic individuals can  cause severe, and sometimes fatal reactions. Life threatening anaphylactic reaction can occur in sensitive individuals upon consumption or inhalation of peanut dust.

No illness or adverse reaction resulting from the consumption of this product has been reported.

Consumers who have purchased Harris Teeter chocolate ice cream with UPC code #7203643011 in a 64 oz. container should return the product to their nearest store for a full refund. Customers with questions should call Harris Teeter's Customer Relations line at 1-800-432-4111.
